LESCO Tariff Rate

The increasing LESCO tariff rate in Pakistan has also affected the electricity bill sector. If we compare today’s electricity rates to those from 2010-2012, there is a massive difference. People’s lives have been adversely affected by these sudden changes in tariffs. Everyone must understand their bill tariff.

Having a comprehensive knowledge of electricity bill tariffs enables you to estimate your expected bill, and in this way, you can save some units and, of course, save money. Electricity rates change over time based on the economic situation of the country and agreements with IPPs (Individual Power Producers). The term ‘tariff’ refers to the rate at which electrical energy is sold to consumers.

LESCO Tariff Depends on Following Factors

The cost of generating electricity is influenced by various factors, including

Connected Load
Maximum Demand
Load factor
Demand Factor
Diversity Factor
Plant Capacity Factor
Use Factor

These factors are, in turn, influenced by the type of load and the prevailing load conditions. As a result, the tariff structure varies for different types of loads and, consequently, different categories of consumers.

This complexity in determining tariffs arises from the need to consider the diverse requirements of various consumer groups, such as industrial, domestic, and commercial customers. Consequently, the process of setting tariffs becomes intricate and multifaceted.

Usually, peak hours are counted from 6 PM to 10 PM. These price fluctuations in peak and off-peak hours are due to the supply and demand gap.

FAQs

Monthly Electricity Bill = Watt Hours x Price per Kilowatt Hour (kWh).

LESCO put charges and established its tariffs according to the notification of NEPRA, and the government of Pakistan. Without their authority, LESCO is unable to forward tariffs to its customers.

Conclusion

LESCO plays a vital role in supplying electricity and works effectively to provide ease to its clients. However, LESCO issued the tariffs after the notification of NEPRA. In addition to this, the LESCO introduced the bill calculator so that the customer can easily estimate their bill monthly.
